Bee Propolis

Yet another astounding by-product of the honeybee, propolis is collected by bees from the resin underneath tree bark. The strong antibiotic, antiviral, and antifungal properties of propolis make it indispensable when treating a variety of health concerns, both internal and external. Propolis is said to be beneficial in the treatment of stomach ulcers, warts, herpes lesions, toothaches, gum healing, and for boosting the immune system. High in bioflavonoids, amino acids, trace minerals – such as calcium, magnesium, and zinc – B-vitamins, and vitamins E, C, and beta-carotene.

Propolis is available in a thick, concentrated tincture that can be used topically on warts, herpes, and other sores, as well as applied directly to an infected tooth. But be prepared – this form of propolis is tarlike – very dark and sticky. A more soluble concentration is available for mixing with liquid and taken internally, and lozenges can be chewed for the benefit of mouths, gums, and throat.
