Psyllium Seed

Psyllium seeds supply bulk and lubrication to the intestinal tract and are used in conditions of constipation. Psyllium seeds can be chewed, in the fashion of the ancient Greeks, or added to cereal or blended into vegetable drinks.

Prune (with recipe)

Prune manufacturers valiantly attempt to rise above their constipation sigma. Cannot this fruit of the elegant plum tree stand on its own merits? For what is a prune but a dried plum – rich as it is in vitamin C, potassium, and protein. Add delicious to boot.

Unsulfured, unmoisturized, unsugarcoated, unsprayed, sun-dried prunes are often so hard as to need soaking or stewing before savoring: be certain not to discard the juice – it is mineral-rich. Prunes are nutritious and good for the digestion; that they happen also to be efficacious in times of constipation seems superfluous to add.
