Coconut Oil

Coconut oil, extracted from the copra or dried meat of the coconut kernel, is one of the most highly saturated of all vegetable oils. Note that many of the so-called high in unsaturates margarines use coconut oil as a hardening agent – an oil that is more saturated than butter itself!

Although coconut oil can be used for cooking purposes, it is most widely used in the manufacture of cosmetics. It is also said to be useful in mitigating muscular aches when massaged into the affected area, and in preventing stretch marks during pregnancy.
